Research Scientist II

Mr. Ryan McGill is a Research Scientist II in GTRI's CIPHER Quantum Systems Division (QSD) with over five years of experience in experimental atomic physics. He holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from Auburn University and a Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech. He is concurrently enrolled in Georgia Tech's  Ph.D.  In QSD, Mr. McGill has contributed to a variety of sponsored research projects in trapped ion quantum computation, including the design, build, and test of several ion trap systems currently operational in the laboratory. His research interests include quantum system control, experimental trapped ion platforms, and experimental design for atomic physics applications.
